The contest was organized by KPMG Luxembourg and LHoFT and there were 194 applications from 33 different countries. Mathieu Cottin, Head of Business Development at Tokeny, accepted 2019’s edition of the award after two days of intense work to meet the contest requirements. After several rounds of selection, he delivered a fantastic pitch but the award goes down to two years of tireless work from the whole team.
There were seven senior executives on the jury: Frederic Becker, Fintech advisor at the Ministry of Economy; Ghela Boskovich, Head of Fintech/Regtech Partnerships at Rainmaking Innovation; Cristina Ferreira, Head Regulatory Solutions & Innovation at State Street; Luc Frieden, Lawyer at Elvinger Hoss and former Finance Minister of Luxembourg; Pedro Penedo, Partner at KPMG Portugal and Member of the Global Lighthouse Leadership Team; Nasir Zubairi, CEO of the LHoFT.
The competition took place in Luxembourg, one of Europe’s leading financial centres. It’s a brilliant achievement to win the award in a country where some of the best Fintechs are situated.
