Who are you?
I’m Nida Orhan. I am a remote UI/UX designer and Frontend Developer. I was born in and I am still living in Turkey. I have studied Business at Bogazici University. I have done a couple of internships in sales, marketing and finance departments in various companies in my first years of college. In my third year, I started to learn graphic/web design to create visuals and interfaces for our startup project. Our business idea didn’t work out in the end but from this grew a strong interest in web design and development and I decided to pursue a career in the field. I took courses and did an internship as a graphic designer. After finishing college I worked as a frontend developer in Turkey for some time, then I did freelance design and development for almost 1 year. After that I joined Tokeny in its early days and have been working here since then.
How did you land at Tokeny Solutions?
I was looking for a permanent remote position and I got an offer from Tokeny. The company was only a few months old at the time with a few employees. The team was still trying to finish the first MVP. After interviewing with our CEO, I was impressed by Tokeny’s vision in blockchain technology and it was obvious for me that the company will succeed in this area. So I wanted to be a part of the team that will realize that vision.
How would you describe working at Tokeny Solutions?
Tokeny has been a remote friendly company since the beginning. It is a flexible and well connected organization. We have regular weekly online meetings to keep each other in sync about our work and monthly meetings to learn about the company’s overall performance and strategy. I love the collaborative team culture and friendly atmosphere at Tokeny. I have been working remotely for almost 3 years now and I have never had the chance to visit our offices in Europe but I have always felt accepted and valued and seen as a part of the team.
What are you most passionate about in life?
I’m most passionate about product design. I love creating applications from scratch that are beautiful and easy-to-use for people and doing this by combining design and development. It has been always very satisfying for me to design an interface and bring it to life with code.
What is your ultimate dream?
I have many, but the ultimate one is to live a fun and happy life with my family. I became the mother of an adorable little son two years ago and he has been the center of my life since then. I want to see him grow and cherish him throughout his life.
What would you change in the world if you could?
I would like to give everyone the opportunity of having a high quality education so that everyone can achieve their dreams.
