Who are you?
My name is Xavi Aznal Prieto. I was born and still live with my wife and kids in the Barcelona area (Spain). I have a degree in Telecommunications Engineering and a masters in Computer Vision. Since I was a child I have always had an interest in knowing ‘how machines work’. I had the opportunity to have my own computer since I was 10 years old (8 bits CPU and 128KB RAM at that time), so I would say I am a vocational engineer. During my professional career I have developed several tech related roles, from big companies to startups. I have coded a lot, defined tech strategy and managed projects and teams. In particular, I have been involved in startup projects during the past 12 years, an environment that I feel very stimulating as I like new challenges and not getting bored 🙂
How did you land at Tokeny Solutions?
I previously worked with our CCO Daniel Coheur in a startup project where I recruited and managed a tech development team in Barcelona. Tokeny had the idea of setting up a development team in Barcelona, so Daniel contacted me, we started discussing with Luc, our CEO, and I was quickly convinced by the potential of the business vision. I started with Tokeny by taking a Product Owner role and also with the goal of recruiting and managing Barcelona development office. Now we are seven people in Barcelona, and we will hopefully keep growing!
How would you describe working at Tokeny Solutions?
I feel very comfortable being part of Tokeny’s team. People are very skilled and communication is fairly fluid in all directions. Because of last year’s situation, we have become very familiar with a fully remote working environment and our adaption has been excellent, which speaks volumes about the quality of the team.
What are you most passionate about in life?
I love to be outdoors and breathe some fresh air. I have been into endurance sports for many years, having finished some marathons, Ultra Trails and Iron Man triathlons. Now I do not train so hard but a good run across the countryside still charges my batteries.
What is your ultimate dream?
If all my beloved ones, wife and kids, stay healthy I have more than enough to be happy 🙂
What would you change in the world if you could?
I would say that every person in the world could have their basic needs covered: food, roof and health access. A utopia? I would like to think it’s not.
